Everyone is here! Day one outside the dorms at 31 Sechauerstraße. Ready for the orientation day: getting comfortable with the U-Bahn.

Final concert for our Study Abroad Program was advertised here in this Volkhochschule publication. It is a benefit concert of the Children of Ethiopia.

Sigrid Karlstrom in New Mexico Philharmonic

Sigrid Karlstrom is finishing her 2nd year as a tenured violist in the New Mexico Philharmonic. Graduating May 2012 with a Master’s degree in violin from Mr. G’s studio, she moved to the University of New Mexico to pursue another Master’s in viola and string pedagogy. Winning the viola job was a complete and total surprise, especially as at that time she had been taking viola lessons for only 8 months, but playing in a professional orchestra is an amazing experience!

Miya wins State Champ at competition!

Miya Saito-Beckman attended the Oregon State Fiddle Contest this past weekend is now Oregon State Fiddle Champion! She also won the "anything goes" category for entertainment. Fantastic Job Miya! She received an invitation to the National Fiddle Contest where she will compete and perform in the Certified Showcase. Miya is  also a fantastic classical player as well.

University of Oregon Music Ed Students enjoy the ASTA conference in Salt Lake! We had a great time seeing lots of great sessions. The U of O was well represented with many of our students and faculty and alums in attendance. What a great weekend!
